The 'religion of peace' in Nigeria

Fulani herdsmen have massacred thousands of Christians in Nigeria. Source: Christian Today

" Christians are being deliberately targeted and massacred by the Islamist gunmen, some of which have links reaching through to Islamic State.

'These attacks started in 2010, when some Fulani gunman invaded a village in Plateau State and sacked the whole community and killed about 500 people – children, women and men – in one night.

'Usually what they do is come into a commmunity in the night while  people are sleeping. A few of the gunmen go into the centre of the village and begin to shoot sporadically. When people wake up they are rounded up, and people who try and run away are killed because they have gunmen stationed on the outskirts of the village.'

'The persecution has increased. Three years ago the Fulani moved on to the southern part of Kaduna State, a largely Christian area, where they were attacking commmunities on an almost daily basis.

'The only explanation we can give is that it is a kind of ethno-religious cleansing. I am not sure of the total, but in southern Kaduna more than 800 people were killed in 2016 alone. The total number would run to 2,000 or more. The Fulani kill the people, loot their homes then set the whole place ablaze.

'Nmadu, who is also General Secretary of one of northern Nigeria's largest churches, the Evangelical Church Winning All, said: 'We have learned they have some connection with Boko Haram, and there are links between Boko Haram and Islamic State.'

'He urged the church worldwide to pray 'that God will embolden us to face the challenges that we have on a daily basis'."

Navel gazing v. the real plight of women

Boko Haram 'has abducted, raped and enslaved 2,000 women in reign of terror'

One year ago today over 200 schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram. Dreadful as that event was, there has been much less publicity on the plight of around 800,000 children who have been forced to flee their homes. According to reports from UNICEF "more than 1.5 million people have fled their homes due to the violence." Muslim women often bear the brunt of this inhumanity along with non-Muslims.

Meanwhile at the Church in Wales' meeting of the Barry Morgan Appreciation Society Governing Body this week a large chunk of the Agenda will be taken up by the representation (plight!) of women in the Church in Wales resulting in the Motion -

"That the Governing Body:
receive and welcome the Report of the Working Group on Representation of Women in the Church in Wales dated April 2015 and endorse the recommendations therein;
accept that the Church in Wales has not achieved in the last seven years the expected cultural change, the appointment of more women into senior posts and the greater involvement of women in Church decision making;
recognise that the equality agenda is the responsibility of the whole Church;
commend the Report to the Province, dioceses, deaneries and parishes for study and appropriate action;
request the Standing Committee to allocate the recommendations in the Report to the appropriate bodies for action;
request the Standing Committee to report back on progress in implementing the recommendations within 3 years."

The navel gazing is so intense that the Church in Wales is blind to the fact that Provinces which have adopted the feminist agenda are going downhill fast. Highlighted in the Report is this gem: "the Church was best placed to fulfil its mission when all of its members are enabled to fully acknowledge their gifts and duties and to exercise their unique talents and vocations as individuals", ie, jobs for the girls. It certainly does not apply to members who are out of favour because they seek to fulfil the mission of the universal Church rather than a self-indulgent separatist minority which claims membership of the Holy Catholic Church as they tear her apart. If they genuinely wished to "recognise that the equality agenda is the responsibility of the whole Church" [my emphasis], they would take the universal view.

Agendum 12 introduces "Evangelism - Witnessing to Good News in Wales and 2020":
"The essential vision behind the Church in Wales review of 2012 was that Church can be the bearer of good news to the world". Do they realise that there is a world beyond Offa's Dyke?

The new black death

"For Muslims, the whole focus of the life on earth must be directed at securing a place to this Islamic heaven, full of sexual indulgence. And the way of securing a ticket to Allah's whoredom is outlined in Quran 9:111, which says:
'Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden (Paradise) will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain'
Verse 9:111 means what it means. A Muslim who is killed or who kills fulfilling teachings of 9:5, 9:29 and all the other verses of the Quran exhorting murder, rape, terror, and torture are guaranteed accession to Allah's paradise".

- From 9/11 is Enactment of Quran 9:111 here.

Death and destruction are rampant. People are beheaded, crucified and worse as a warning to others, churches are destroyed, what remains of ancient civilizations is obliterated, all in the name of Allah. If anyone questions how the 'Religion of Peace' can be responsible for such atrocities the response is the same: "Islamophobia"!

Islam is regarded as one of the great religions of the world. Numerically it is but given the perpetual carnage since its inception, people are entitled to investigate the root cause of the violence. While Islam means submission it does not mean that everyone must be kept in ignorance. On the contrary, if there is nothing to hide an open debate should be welcome.

If Islam were truly a 'Religion of Peace' we should expect Muslims be in the forefront of peacekeeping, extolling the wonders of the Quran and Hadiths.  The problem is that although there are peaceful verses in the Quran they have been abrogated by "at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule".

The UK Muslim Public Affairs Committee (MPACUK) claims: Muslims are going through an identity crisis, and have been for many decades... Muslims have suffered oppression for hundreds of years... and with such rampant injustices perpetrated against the Muslims all around the world... "Because the Muslim struggle has never been explained in this manner, the Muslim reaction to oppression is often misconstrued as acts of ‘extremism’ ‘radicalisation’ and so forth. For our Ummah’s struggle to be understood, Muslims must tell the world about their story and their struggle"!

Muslims are invited to "join the struggle for justice" and complain to the Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) if they have been "verbally abused, harassed, discriminated against or even violently attacked because you are Muslim" or have been "mistreated by the police or security services or a victim of anti-terror laws". Meanwhile the IHRC has named the murdered Charlie Hebdo staff 'International Islamophobe of the Year'!

Do Muslims not understand what real persecution is? "There are few places on earth where Christianity is as old as it is in Iraq. Christians there trace their history to the first century apostles. But today, their existence has been threatened by the terrorist group that calls itself Islamic State. More than 125,000 Christians -- men, women and children -- have been forced from their homes over the last 10 months". Read the heart-rending story of their plight here. That is persecution.

Often funded by Qatar and Saudi Arabia mosque building in Europe has shifted into high gear enabling Islam to spread in the West while in Saudi Arabia their Grand Mufti wants churches destroyed . The sad story of Muslim prayers being offered in an Anglican Church serves to emphasis the ignorance surrounding Islam. It is a supremacist, religious ideology which believes that everything belongs to Allah and all must submit or pay the price - as the people of Syria and Iraq know to their cost.

Not just the ignorant are manipulated. A news report claims that: "Nine British medics feared to have crossed into Syria". The contagion is spreading but the problem is not being tackled. The Ebola virus disease has claimed 10,000 lives. A United Nations report highlighting the human rights violations of the Islamic State's jihadist campaign in Iraq found that over 24,000 Iraqi civilians have been injured or killed by ISIS in the first eight months of 2014, and the extremists have taken up the practices of recruiting 12- and 13-year-old soldiers and forcing women and girls into sex slavery.

Now linked with IS, Boko Haram killed 6,347 civilians in 2014 while endless killing goes on in Pakistan (56,867 fatalities in terrorist violence 2003-2015) and elsewhere. If this were a virus huge resources would be made available to prevent it spreading but Islam is not only allowed to spread it is facilitated by politicians and church leaders who have preferred to bury their heads in the sand rather than ask themselves if the world wouldn't be far more peaceful without Islam.

Today, Theresa May has has made it clear that the UK will not tolerate extremists. Watch here. There can be no going back. The medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres blamed a "global coalition of inaction" which led to "tragic consequences" with the spread of Ebola. We cannot afford to make the same mistake with Islam.

"Speak up. Of course, there is good people of the Islam people. There is not all Muslim people they are bad. I believe. But there is the good people? Where is their voice? Nothing. Few. Few."
- Archbishop Nicodemus Sharaf, Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of Mosul

Censored or Censured?

Yesterday I commented (@ 07 May 2014 9:54pm) on a Guardian article under the heading "Which restaurant chains have gone halal – and why?" (here). I checked back twice. First I found a derogatory sub-comment about me heavily laced with references to excrement because of what I had written. The second time I found the comment and response replaced by "This comment was removed by a moderator because it didn't abide by our community standards. Replies may also be deleted. For more detail see our FAQs."

What was my error? My comment drew a parallel between the ritual slaughter of animals by a Muslim who must precede the slaughter by invoking the name of Allah, most commonly by saying "Bismillah" ("In the name of God") and then three times "Allahu akbar" (God is the greatest) and the slaughter of humans in the name of Allah such as that highlighted in the MailOnline: "Boko Haram terror group slaughters hundreds in Nigeria as Britain joins France and US in hunt for 300 missing schoolgirls".

Whether I was censored or censured I don't know but expressing the view in a supposedly Christian country that the slaughter of humans in the name of Allah is unacceptable whether 'justified' in the Koran or not seems pretty reasonable to me so I assume that my comment was removed because it might be considered offensive to Muslims.

From the Telegraph - "Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders today issue a defence of the practice, insisting the ability of shops, restaurants and canteens to serve kosher and halal meat is a matter of “religious freedom”." That religious freedom must include not being unwittingly sold halal meat.

Much of the concern in the media has been centred on animal welfare but the religious freedom of consumers must not be overlooked. Muslims are free to believe what they like but that message should not be fed to others through ritual slaughter when it contradicts the Christian message which is succinctly summarised in the Greg Koukl's video above - "I am the way, the truth and the life."

A question of degree

What separates this

from this?

Only a question of degree. Read also the MailOnline article here.

There have been suggestions that the Islam Trojan Horse plot is a fake. Time will tell but Sharia is already here:

Armed jihad or cultural jihad, the aim is the same but people such as the bishop in the second video continue to make excuses about extremists while indigenous populations become the minority in major cities of the UK. As Islam spreads more demands are made making non-Muslims unwitting supporters of an alien ideology. Islam is Islam. It means submission. The message is the same. It is only a question of degree.

Another 'stunning success' for the religion of peace

Photo: AFP

Stunning is the word. A farmer in Nigeria located the bodies of two of his sons: a 10-year-old who had been shot in the back as he apparently attempted to escape the fire and a 12-year-old who had taken a bullet to the chest. He said, "That's it, I'm taking my other boys out of school”.  He has three younger children who study nearby. “It's not safe”, he said. “The gunmen are attacking schools and there is no protection for students despite all the soldiers”.  Another 'success' for the religion of peace.

Just part of a report [here] of another school massacre in Nigeria where 41 children were killed, some burned alive: "Militants arrived on the scene with vessels carrying large quantities of fuel which they used to torch the building. Those who tried to flee the burning wreckage were shot" the survivors said. The report continues: The attack on the Government Secondary School in Mamudo town in the northeastern Yobe state is the latest in a series of militant attacks targeting children. The area has been targeted by the Boko Haram militant group repeatedly. The sect’s name means Western education is sacrilege or  sinful. Since 2010 "dozens of schools have been torched and over 1,600 victims murdered by extremists across the country".

How many more excuses can there be for turning a blind eye to these outrages in the name of religion? Recently the Home Secretary banned two speakers from the United States from entering the UK to explain that however peaceful Muslims may appear, the basis of their faith is the same as that which is used to massacre these innocent children. What can a child know of politics? They want only to be loved. Even if right were on the side of the Islamists, which it cannot be when it entails violence, what possible excuse can there be for killing innocent children with fire and bullets or anything else for that matter? There is none. If Western education (freedom of thought) were sinful, innocent children can know nothing of it.

Christ called little children to Himself without hindrance. Spot the difference Home Secretary?
