Affirming the truth

 "What is happening to the Church of England? Over the past few decades the Church of England has been drifting farther and farther away from conservative theology and values to a liberal and woke ideology which includes entertaining and promoting critical race theory among other things. This has resulted in fissures within the Anglican communion. Where is the Church of England heading? In this episode, Dr. Costa interviews Calvin Robinson on these and many pressing issues."

The gay pride movement has come a long way in the 50 years since the first protest march. Homophile strategists have been very adept at manipulating public opinion with an 'arsenal' of six tactics that are based upon 'deceptions and half‑truths':

  • Exploit the “victim” status;
  • Use the sympathetic media;
  • Confuse and neutralize the churches;
  • Slander and stereotype Christians;
  • Bait and switch (hide their true nature); and
  • Intimidation.

The Church has suffered particularly badly as a result of the success of this strategy which, regrettably, includes the indoctrination of school children

Western Anglicanism along with other religious denominations have capitulated so that same sex couples are able to marry in church in contradiction of Christian beliefs with many places of worship flying the rainbow flag implying LGBTQ+ domination.

In a comparatively short space in time the oppressed have become oppressors, often fighting among themselves. The battle cry of transphobia has been added to accusations of homophobia against anyone who questions illogical aspects of the LGBT movement while women of colour are claiming under-representation and disabled LGBTQ complaining about lack of facilities according to recent BBC Wales news coverage.

The LGBTQ+ movement is splintering as has the Church which is suffering the consequences as it conforms to the world. How refreshing, then, to listen to a newly ordained deacon, Calvin Robinson affirming the truth after Church of England bishops rejected him for ordination because, unlike them, he has kept the faith. In the YouTube interview, above, Calvin expresses the views of many who have been left by the Church.

Asked what faithful Christians can do to "work with him to be salt and light in England" Calvin replied, "I’m planting a church in NW London and I’m looking to start a mission centre for Anglicans to thrive and grow.

"The GB centre for Confessing Anglicans and The Brotherhood of the Holy Trinity will be a missionary centre for discipling, media ministry, social teaching, and education."

    Here's the big BBC lie.

  2. I've mentioned this before in previous AB correspondents' discussions: the very close similarities between the Church's Canonical/Ecclesiastical Law and the Army's Military Law which guide, direct and ultimately discipline the behaviour of their respective 'servants': the clergy on the one hand, HM Forces personnel on the other.

    The only significant difference between the two is that while HM Forces has the judicial fall-back (or catch-all) of Section 69 of the Army Act 55 which is "bringing the Army into disrepute", the Church in its woolly non-confrontational weakness, avoids such contentious hold over the behaviour of its clerics (and bishops). If the Church had employed something similar to Section 69 AA55 then this whole, long-running, sad debate over LGBTQ+ and rouge Deans/Bishops et al would have been nipped in the bud decades ago. 'Bringing the CHURCH into disrepute ....'

    Now ponder why it might be that the Military - which would have been the least likely of all professional or employment sectors to absorb gays, lesbians, transvestites etc into its ranks - has proved itself perhaps the finest example of how LGBTQ+ can and have mixed gays with straights seamlessly. It's not even a discussion point in the ranks. Its accepted. The reason, I suggest, is Section 69 of the AA55 which is the 'catch-all' hanging over every one of all ranks and sexes. Fine-lines have been drawn with all sexes of all ranks knowing what the rules are and where boundaries are. Yes, you can be homosexual or lesbian aboard an active HMS warship ... but keep it celibate and no flaunting it. Ditto straights. Yes, you can be an RSM in the leanest-meanest Regiment and be transvestite ... but keep your dressing-up box and lipstick off the Parade Ground and woe-betides that you use your influence as WOI to sway junior ranks to your thinking. Section 69 AA55 is in the CO's armoury for immediate discipline; and harsh discipline too when necessary. Dismissal or reduction in ranks not being uncommon.

    Curiously, Military Law - in mirroring Ecclesiastical Law - was first written in the 12th century as rudiments for the behaviour of 'Christian' Crusaders and to reflect the honour they should obey to both King (military) and God (Christian). It has been left almost unchanged ever since.

    I suspect from knowing the AB contributor types and angsts that each of us can immediately come up with at least one senior priest of the Church-in-Wales (and perhaps most of them), who if a Section 69 look-alike were introduced to Canonical Law, then many of them would be "Dismissed Service" (honourably or dishonourable dischage) or reduced in rank.

    We have sufficient lawyers within the Church - and lay members of RB/Synod - to ponder the thought if the will is there. But they're self-serving opportunists and cowards.

    And lastly, if a Section 69/Army Act look-alike were enshrined into Canonical Law think of the savings in terms of wasted legal manhours, legal costs, out-of-court settlements of culprit clergy who currently (and to avoid ecclesiastical law) translate their cases to [Civil] Employment Law. How many Welsh bishops and deans would be left standing today if there was a 'bringing the Church into disrepute' Section 69 Para III enshrined? I doubt if ++Bangor's mediocre Bachelor of Law degree would help him much.

    Old Bill (with apologies for length).

  4. I'm sure we'll get back to AB's theme ref the deviations of the Church, but meanwhile, Unison Off who cares whether +Gregory is described as a 'theologian' or 'Chef d'cuisine'
    The church itself can't define 'theology'. There are seven at least main branches and off each umpteen deviations. Covenant Theologists, Dispensational (ditto), Liberation (ditto), Natural (ditto), Reformed (Ditto), Replacement (ditto) and Systematic (ditto) theologists. No one agrees with the other. No one probably understands the other. Theology is a waffle. As with many other subjects of University study its an 'ology' (from the Greek for study) that proves only that you have the ability to absorb and study. No earthly use for the subject of study ... just that you have an ability to learn. Something like Andrew John's BA Law. It doesn't make him a Lawyer, just that he can read some books and pass a bog-standard university exam. Too much is made of the title 'theologist'. There is no such thing. Until perhaps the last 50 years, there was a parallel degree, Bachelor of Divinity (BD). That, for priests, at least had some merit.

    Whether +Gregory is tagged a 'theologist' or not is irrelevant. How he runs his diocese and drives his clergy to today's Gospel of the lost sheep is.

  5. Having 'done' LGBT, where now does the Church go? What other blind alleys can it go down? Perhaps the abortion about-turn in America (with gay marriage next) indicates an inevitable reversion to first principles and to renewal.

    1. Another schism amongst the liberals is the "drop the T" campaign - a growing number of gay people feeling that THEIR agenda, the LGB equality campaign, has been hijacked by the T brigade. Most lesbians actually want women's changing rooms and toilets to be for women - not for men and teenage boys who say "I declare myself female"
