Frustrated drivers trying to enter and leave Wales through the M4 bottleneck in Newport, Gwent, will, depending on their outlook, have mixed views on the statement by First Minister, Mark Drakeford, who rejected the idea of a proposed relief road on grounds of cost and on "the impact of the relief road on environmental considerations around Gwent."
When challenged on his decision the First Minister said "even if we could have afforded it, I would still not have signed the orders."
The Amazon rainforest covers much of northwestern Brazil, extending into Colombia, Peru and other South American countries. It is the world’s largest tropical rainforest extending over 5.5 million km².
The Gwent Levels, described as a 'fantastic wild haven', occupies a tiny strip of coastal land extending over 71 km² and is characterised by its flat land with 'reen' drain ditches similar to the Wentlooge levels on the other side of Newport.
The Amazon rainforest comparison reminds me of progressives in the Church in Wales with their 27,359 regular Sunday worshippers representing themselves as 'The Church' when taking views contrary to the vast majority of the 85 million members of the Anglican Communion.
Responding to the debate on her ‘divisive’ motion that the Church in Wales should cease to ordain people who did not agree with women’s ordination, the Archdeacon of Llandaff, Peggy Jackson, said that those who entered the priesthood were clear that the Church was not “in two minds” about women’s ministry. Those who found themselves “at odds” with a particular aspect of what the Church believed must “protect and operate their own arrangements and conscience how best they may.”
Jackson was right. The Church is not in two minds. She is. She and like minded individuals continue to misrepresent the beliefs of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church for their own ends while seeking to exclude orthodox Anglicans from their new, 'inclusive' church.

DeleteQuite, AB - the only one trying to exclude was Peggy Jackson in her attempt to make a whole wing of Anglican churchmanship extinct in an act of 'theological' genocide.

ReplyDeleteHer attitude of "the taxman will never know", her involvement in the Organ appeal fiddles (doing nothing after being told by John Lewis at the Chapter meeting of March 15 2011 that Phillipa Hallinan's salary was being paid by the appeal) and destroying the Llandaff Cathedral choir.
A legacy entirely in keeping with her own abilities.
More seriously Subversive Canon, this woman claimed to have been "misunderstood" in her intention when proposing her divisive motion. She was not. She has caused untold misery to many Anglicans whom she suggested should "operate their own arrangements and conscience how best they may" in full knowledge that there were no other arrangements for orthodox Anglicans.

WOW Ruth - calling someone a 'useless lump of lard' is really unkind. What did you get out of worship on Sunday? I thought Peggy preached rather well to be fair - I appreciated her reference to Thomas Merton. Ruth, I would commend Merton's writings to you - it would assist with the negativity you express in your posts to this site.

I took nothing from the Cathedral on Sunday, it has become moribund.
When you have identified an antidote to the negativity and poison spread by Peggy the Pilate and the rest of the coven, let me know.
In the meantime keep your inane drivel to yourself or put yourself forward for ordination as you would fit in well with the current crop of lightweights.
Thanks for your kind and generous words, Ruth. I suspect you're also one of those few parishioners who refuse to share the sign of the peace at the 11am? If the Cathedral is, as you say, dead, why do you continue to attend? There are plenty of other places of worship you could think about taking your presence, sense of liveliness and kindness to. You should be ordained yourself.

DeleteAs you demonstrate so ably, there is no genuine or sincere 'peace of the Lord' to be shared in Llandaff, as it has been for many years now from a majority of the clergy, Bazza's coven and the gay cabal, the prevalent attitude is 'if you don't like it, tough and get lost'.
I choose to stay if for no other reason than to be a thorn in the side of such as you, the useless dud in the Deanery and the spendthrift Caiaphas.
Changes to the Cathedral will have limited effect (good or bad). The CinW needs a major re-think but instead the Llandaff diocese particularly is under the influence of a few bird-brains. Sad, but true.

If all postings are true, factual and honest, which I have no doubt, then what a picture of division, inept morals, questionable spending and more. The CinW needs competent leaders and a worthy mission strategy and reordering for its 2020 strategy... What strategy?
ReplyDeletePerhaps if each diocese looked in depth at the 7 Churches of Asia Minor in the book of Rev,Ch:2-3 and choose the model that suites it true state and strategise mission for repair, and act accordingly. But, it is pretty much a foregone conclusion that all will most probably choose the model Church in Philadelphia.
Rather than dissent, perhaps the way is challenge, call out, speak out and faithful witness, for it is Christ we serve.
Rob's comment does not surprise me. I have friends living in Llantrisant who have been lifelong communicants in that handsome church on the hill who also have "not an idea" of what is going on in their mother church in Llandaf. Tragic beyond words.
