A bird in the hand...




The knives were out before the Prime Minister outlined the negotiated Brexit deal to the House of Commons. 

Remainers have used every ploy to halt the process and remain in the EU despite a clear majority vote to leave in one of the highest turnouts of the electorate while the purists among leavers want only what they want as if their demands would be accepted if they shouted loud enough,

Mrs May presented a negotiated 'divorce' settlement which satisfies the main objective of many who voted leave which was to put an end to uncontrolled migration from Europe. It also guards against the 'cliff-edge' warnings about jobs, trade and medicine shortages while protecting the N. Ireland border.

Cometh the hour, cometh the woman. 

Mrs May's mastery of her brief has impressed friends and foes alike. Many readers will not agree with some of her liberal policies but on this occasion she has delivered what she set out to do and deserves credit for that.

    Strongly disagree - she has given in to Barnier and Schultz. Look at their smiles of satisfaction at the recent news conference. We need to be much more bullish - we are massive economy which they want to trade with whatever the relationship.

    Mrs May allowed the EU to set the agenda and stabbed the DUP in the back. May this deal collapse and our UK be saved.

    Agree with you - she is merely serving the status quo that does not want to leave the EU ..her civil servants have played a brilliant propaganda campaign from the start, ever since Hard and Soft Brexit was coined - yes, she has delivered what she set out to do, stay in the EU as much as possible - once again, millions have been duped ... in a nutshell, she has done to perfection what most politicians do, deceive and lie ...Cameron was one of our worst PM's and TM now joins him ... sadly, I don't see a new PM in waiting in any party. At least future generations will learn from this debacle how to handle negotiations viz you don't play your hand in public, for starters, and you don't give away key aspects at the start ...

    I’m with Mr Rees-Mogg. I believe a no deal / no payment scenario would be great. And just watch the other members push to leave.

      I take it that the Dad's Army comment is aimed at ridiculing our non-mainstream voter views? The lack of empathy in our tiny church's clergy is staggering. Very few seem able to see that those with an opposing view are entitled to it and may indeed turn out to have the correct view. Sad. And had it been humorous it may have at least made me laugh at myself... another trait lacking in clergy.

    AB: Can you be sure that you have not swallowed the PM's propaganda? Her critics deny that it will bring the obenefits she claims. Who has read the 500 pages? I am sceptical and am in favour of no deal. One thing I do know and you, AB, must have noticed: she is achingly politically correct. No chance of her supporting traditional sexual moral standards.
    She has displayed grit, but is she right? I think not.

    We should be nearly six months into free if dodgy Dave had done what he threatened and activate article 50 the day after a leave vote but he scarpered. We'd also have saved 9 months of contributions.

    The may Msss. May has sought to bully her underlings into submission is disgusting. Ministers don't resign on a whim, it's a cushy number with nice limo's so I think I respect them more than this liberal, pc creature. She is pushy Juncker and Barmy's document which they clearly wrote


    Switzerland has 5 EU borders and they don't seem to have a problem.

    But for Wales on the political programme sharp end, It was made known the our FM is signing or repealing law to put aspects of our status back to Westminster. If this is right, why PP.
