Chickens coming home to roost in Diocese of Monmouth

"Good news! - at last, just heard that 8 hens are ready to be picked up and brought to ... a new and happy home at Bishopstow @MonmouthDCO. Looking forward to watching their delightful antics, not to mention eating their tasty eggs."

Perhaps the first of many chickens coming home to roost in Monmouth diocese and beyond!

With the Bishop of Monmouth looking to appoint a new Dean of Newport and the Bishop of Llandaff's rumoured desire to replace the Dean of Llandaff, more egg layers are likely to be in the offing.

  1. Some unkind souls might say that Llandaff's had a chicken in residence at the Deanery for the past six years.

Reports from the Green suggest the moving vans are already circling in anticipation.

  2. All Gerwhine did at Llandaff was 'lay an egg', as the saying goes.

Mind you it looks like Acorn Antiques is having a clearance sale!

    1. It will be news to Llandaff parishioners if --Bazza's golf caddie had produced anything at all.

  3. PP. At least the Dean of Llandaff won't translate to Monmouth. The selection panel looks an interesting line up. Inc Kathy Bangor!

    Where shall wisdom be found?

  5. I don't know about chickens coming home to roost or not but I have just heard through a whats app that Her ladyship of Llandaff has announced that there are to be 20 plus Mission Areas to replace the 109 parishes of the diocese. There will be no consultation. Sounds like a Boris Johnson governance to me. I'll have no truck with it and I shall beg the Mother Church to accept me.
