  11. Does wearing such vestments mean that they believe in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass or is it Mikado time?

    1. I hope they don't believe in the sacrifice of the mass since they would be plain and direct violation of the 39 Articles (#31) to which they swore to uphold.

    2. Whamab, the plank sitters promise to uphold the Holy Scriptures as part of the consecration service, which they immediately forget to do once the crozier is in their hand. The 39 articles also speak of the sufficiency of Scripture (article 6), but the plankers forget about that too when it suits them. To be a planker you can believe anything you want.

  17. In 1994 (fateful year!) Michael Harper published EQUAL AND DIFFERENT, a defence of the traditional Christian understanding of the respective roles of men and women in creation, and hence in the Church and its ministry. A revised edition came out in 1997, by which time the author, originally a prominent member of the Evangelical party in the C of E and therefore well equipped to argue from the text of Scripture, had converted to Orthodoxy, where he was reordained and became Dean of the Antiochian jurisdiction in the UK. A PDF of the second edition can be found here: https://archive.org/details/equaldifferentma0000harp. I can strongly recommend it to all who are disturbed by the flat contradiction between the teaching and practice of the Undivided Church and the eccentric position adopted by contemporary Anglicanism, especially its Welsh manifestation which now has only three actual bishops (quite sufficient for its small size), as well as a slightly larger cohort of female bishop-impersonators. May the prayers of the Blessed Virgin and St David lead the C in W "back to the Faith which Saints believed of old, back to the Church which still that Faith doth keep".

    1. The five diocesan 'bishops'. Rowan Williams, another female 'bishop' and another two male bishops (all of the latter in choir dress). I was surprised that neither Minus Barry Morgan nor + Wyn Evans were there. But having said that, it was a poor recording and I might have missed someone! Andy Crap in Pontificals, and incense was used!

    2. In other words, there wasn't a single "real" Bishop present.
Even Rowan is an old woman.

  21. I've always (until now) been in a parish that regularly used incense. So yes, nothing un Anglican about it but, at Bangor Cathedral!!!!!! And the last bishop I saw in Wales, in Pontificals, was Eryl Thomas.

  27. PP. The recording was very poor and it was strange to see the consecration, the mitres on ++John and +Mary were very out of place. At least +John wore a mitre in keeping with his bench colleagues.

It was interesting to see the Bishop of Lancaster and the Bishop of Chester.

The one think that stuck out from the procession, was how +June seemed to totter and waddle, she seemed in pain and struggling to walk. Then +Gregory, struggling to walk, very wobbly steps, rocking side to side.
This was so odd to see, while +Johanna and + Cherry seemed very nibble.

Meanwhile, in other news from Bangor, the scholarly Canon Angela Tilby has taken Freddy Kreuger (aka the Bangor Diocesan Scretary and Faux Dean of Bangor) to task in her weekly Church Crimes column, over his cherry-picking of Ignatius of Antioch to justify the hostile imposition of Misery Areas. Canon Tilby described his intervention as 'nonsense' as she provided the historical and ecclesiological setting for Igantius from whuch Freddy has canibalised the patristic reference to suit his own agenda. It was all part of a wide-ranging piece on the mindless behaviour of bishops and their propensity to undercut the local autonomy of parishes, notably 'the elevation of the diocese over the parish, the loss of local connection, the attempts to turn bishops into enforcers of top-down polity, and the subsequent current moves to coerce parishes into diocesan schemes that will rid them of their agency and reduce the clergy to puppets.'

Freddy's reaction? He took to twitter to insist that he 'stands by' his claims. Given that his knowledge of the Patristic era is probably as extensive as Liz Truss's diplomatic skills, I can only assume he's competing to be the biggest fish in that pond of ignorance known as Pseud's Corner!

Talking of bishops as enforcers of top-down polity, the Misery Area Team Leader of Radyr, Vicki Burrowes, who bravely took June Osborne to task for her bullying in the Church Crimes, has announced she is resigning. Referring to 'what I know' about the treatment of clergy, and the need to stand for truth against spin; she also enlightened her parishioners about the panic-driven response to her public calling-out of JO's Putinesque methodology. Apparently, a hastily organised 'survey' was conducted among the clergy of the Diocese of Llandaff. The results confirmed Ms Burrowes's original diagnosis. This led to the senior staff acknowledging to the brow-beaten clergy that there is 'room for improvement.'

Vicki Burrowes is just one of several female clergy, who have been sucked into June Osborne's 'coaching' vortex over the past decade or so, to discover (in the words of one CofE bishop) that her patronage comes at a very high price.
