Favoured clergy

Source: Church in Wales Monmouth Diocese News

Inclusion and diversity give way to exclusivity at the bishop of Monmouth's LGBTQIA+ social evening to be held at the bishop's residence next month.

Imagine the outcry from allegedly discriminated against LGBTQIA+ people if there were a social evening for straight clergy and their partners at which gay and lesbian clergy were excluded.

Reading the bishop's invitation one wonders just how many gay and lesbian clergy there are if guests are directed to use an overflow carpark around the cathedral.

"Bishop of Monmouth Cherry Vann will celebrate communion,..
It is open to LGBTQIA+ people and allies of any Christian tradition, or none."

Better to be queer than Christian in the Church in Wales which continues to discriminate against Anglicans who remain faithful to biblical teaching and tradition.

Defender of the Faith!

Dechrau Canu, Dechrau Canmol (Welsh for 'Start Singing, Start Praising') is a television series featuring congregational Christian singing in the Welsh language. The programmes "celebrate important festivals and dates in the Christian calendar" and place on film the celebration of important national and international occasions where the music is of a devotional and religious nature.

The edition on Sunday 16 April celebrated Ramadan. An odd combination given that in Islam "the content of the song should not be against the morals and teachings of Islam."

There was a rendition of Let there be peace on earth, perhaps a nod to the so-called religion of peace which occurs when all become Muslims through submission. "The fundamental problem is that the majority of otherwise peaceful and law-abiding Muslims are unwilling to acknowledge, much less to repudiate, the theological warrant for intolerance and violence embedded in their own religious texts."

Filmed at Atlantic College in South Wales, students were encouraged to fast so that they could take part in the Muslim Eid al-Fitr celebration (the feast of fast-breaking). A student organiser said: "It's important because it unites us as a school community and as a Muslim community." Over half the students took part when Muslim prayers are offered.

A Muslim chaplain emphasised "one thing that will be very important in the future is to have a full Welsh translation of the Quran. Some smaller chapters have been translated but a Welsh Quran would show that Islam is also a Welsh religion"!

Cultural jihad has the gullible falling over themselves to welcome other faiths while Christianity is under attack.

Just over a week ago the Chapter of Manchester Cathedral had to apologise for allowing the Muslim call to prayer to be made in the cathedral at an interfaith event. This was not an isolated incident among those who should know better.

In the Holy Land Church leaders have spoken out about an increase in anti-Christian incidents including attacks on holy sites, schools and even funeral processions.

Persecution.Org reports: "44 People Killed in Jihadist Attack in Burkina Faso", adding to the growing number of Islamist terrorist attacks. See list of Islamist terrorist attacks.

The last thing Christians need is for the Sovereign and supreme governor of the Church of England to lapse like its bishops and turn his Christian coronation service into another multi-faith event which benefits other faiths to the detriment of our own.

52,250 Nigerian Christians murdered since 2009      18,000 churches set on fire

"The attacks have led to mass forcible displacement. About 5 million Christians have been displaced and forced into Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps within Nigeria and refugee camps at regional and sub-regional borders, the Intersociety report says."

No male

Source: Twitter

MartineOborne @WATCHChair tweeted:

"Lovely photo of our amazing @bishopSarahM giving the dismissal after Maundy Thursday Chrism Mass at St Paul’s cathedral. How can anyone in ⁦@churchofengland ⁩doubt she is truly called to be a leader and bishop in God’s church? In Christ there is no male & female.."

Quite easily for anyone who can tell the difference between feminism and faith.

Leicester Cathedral is celebrating a 'Landmark moment' - having a "fully female clergy team in what it believes might be a first for England." Its team consists of five women, including the acting dean, Reverend Canon Karen Rooms. She said: "While women are increasingly well represented in leadership roles in the church, governance changes... are giving us further opportunities to make sure our cathedral leaders fully represent our diverse congregations and the wider society we serve."

If feminists had it their way there would be no male in Christ, only female. See An emasculate conception.

Does the Church of England stand for anything sacred any more?

"UK Manchester Cathedral calls Muslims to prayer."

Not Christian prayers of course but prayers of worshippers who believe in a political ideology which denies that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, relegating Him to the role of a minor prophet.

The Dean of Manchester was awarded an MBE in 2018 for his services to interfaith relations but Iftar in the cathedral goes way beyond good relations.

In Islamic countries many Christians are in fear of their lives for their faith.

Recently in the UK, not far from Manchester, death threats were sent to pupils who had been suspended from school for accidentally damaging a copy of the Quran.

Following the love and faith debacle the Church of England appears to have completely lost the plot.

Postscript [07.04.2023]

From Church Times: "The Chapter of Manchester Cathedral has apologised for allowing the Muslim call to prayer to be made in the cathedral at an interfaith event last week.

"The Open Iftar event on Wednesday of last week was organised by the Ramadan Tent Project, a Muslim charity. An Iftar is the meal that breaks the day’s Ramadan fast..."

"C of E guidance for churches and cathedrals hosting an Iftar says that the adhan 'should happen in the room allocated for prayer, rather than a consecrated space'." Article here.

What hope for the Church of England if they can't tell the difference between the redeeming love of Christianity and a punishing political ideology?
