Bewildered Infelicity of language is part of the general decay , so is taking the Lord's name in vain. The content is an obvious truism, however I wonder if Mr Murray's definition of marriage is the same as in the BCP?
DeleteI agree with you entirely in principle on the generally dismal standards of spoken and written English friend, but I still feel his point was infinitely more important than a slip of the tongue during the pressure of a lifetime of a live TV interview.
DeleteAs for taking someone's name in vain, as far as I am concerned the name of the son of God was and is Yeshua, Yehoshua or Joshua in English,of which "Jesus" is a corruption or mistranslation.
I can't speak for Mr Murray but as far as I am concerned once more, there is only one definition of marriage that I recognise and accept.
