  1. Will all this detail and Livesteam Links affect the outcome of the Euros or relieve me from the boredom of having football headlining each and every TV news programme? I notice no once else has commented ... maybe everyone is glued into this inane series of fixtures.

Oh, is that why it is so quiet everywhere?

    1. Indeed - as a former “Anglican” Will he be petitioning to be a Monsignor as soon as he receives his orders? One wonders, given everything, how the Roman hierarchy were prepared to ordain him to active ministry - unless they know something we don’t?

  4. Saddest story of the day.
The "religion of peace" hard at work proving the exact opposite.

The religion of peace must be gleefully rubbing hands, as their misdeeds are blamed on Ukraine and the West (Nato).

    2. The Pope welcomes Moslems and even calls them brothers and sisters.

      From the Vatican Bulletin, 26.06.2024

This morning, before the general audience, the Holy Father received in audience a group of Muslims from Bologna and addressed them the following words of greeting:

      Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I am pleased to welcome you and thank you for your visit.
Jesus taught us to welcome one another as brothers and sisters. And this is true first of all for us, Christians, Jews and Muslims, who worship the One God and who refer, albeit in different ways, to Abraham as our father in faith. In today's world, our witness of fraternity is indispensable and very precious.
And we who have had the gift of this religious affiliation are called to be open and welcoming to those who do not share it, because they are, like all of us, members of the one human family.
In particular, sincere and respectful dialogue between Christians and Muslims is a duty for us who want to obey God's will. In fact, it is the will of a Father that his children love one another, help one another, and that, if any difficulty or misunderstanding arises between them, they come to an agreement with humility and patience.
Such dialogue requires effective recognition of the dignity and rights of every person. On top of these rights is the right to freedom of conscience and religion, which means that every human being must be fully free with regard to his or her religious choices. Moreover, every believer must feel free to propose – never impose! – one's religion to other people, believers or not. This excludes any form of proselytism, understood as exerting pressure or threats; must reject any kind of financial or work favours; He must not take advantage of people's ignorance. In addition, marriages between people of different religions should not be an opportunity to convert the spouse to his or her religion.
Dear friends, I hope that, wherever you live, you will be able to maintain good relations with the Catholic Church: with the Bishop, with the clergy and with the faithful, in mutual respect and friendship.
The world, especially at this moment in history, needs coherent believers who are strongly committed to building and maintaining social and world peace. I thank you for being among these "artisans" of peace, together with your communities.
I assure you of my prayers and ask you to please remember me in yours. Thank you!

  5. Good news indeed! Sad news. I am reliably informed that at the principal mass in Brecon cathedral last Sunday, there were 10 in the congregation. Apparently, less than the number of gin bottles put out for the weekly recycling collection.

  6. With Shakerley and Griffith running the show most of the cathedral congregation are at St Mary's where Claverley ( ex cathedral) is going from strength to strength. The cathedral and the director of music ( Stephen Power) continue to shamble along from one official complaint to another with an industrial tribunal now on the horizon. Not fit for purpose any of them!
