Pot, kettle and black were three words that sprang immediately to mind on reading this tweet from the archbishop of Wales, the Most Rev Andrew John.
"Turn from sin and be faithful to Christ"!
The archbishop cannot be unaware of the reaction of the Global South Fellowship of Anglican Churches (GSFA) to the Church of England's decision to follow the Church in Wales and allow clergy to bless couples in same-sex marriages "contrary to the faith and order of the orthodox provinces of the communion whose people constitute the majority in the global flock."
If the bishops of the Church in Wales were to take their archbishop's advice, that would indeed be a significant start to Lent.
The chocolate teapot Randy Pandy needs to remove the log from his own eye before telling the rest of us how to behave.

If he can't dip-stick the temperature and mood of his diminishing church membership, then as a mediocre graduate of Law, he ought to recognise a 'fraud' when he sees one. In any other workplace 'profession', JoJo would have been hauled before an independent medical examiner long ago to test her 'sickness'. As for Chocolate Teapot and 'Black' ... just wait until the Wokes catch on to the racist use of 'black' in context of coaco chocolate etc. I see it coming!!!!

Humm Lux Et Veritas. We normally agree on things, but as AB's title for this subject is Pot, Kettle and Black, let's not be too harsh on President Erdogan of Turkey. Firstly he's not a dictator; he's democratically elected but more importantly let's not forget who it was who was first off the blocks to supply the Ukraine with shiploads of military technology in form of hard-punching drones in the critical early months of the Russian assault. Turkish drones alone kept Putin at bay until the rest of Europe and the USA was even to get out of first-grear.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was Erdorand - not the United Nations or EC or IMO or others - who brokered the deal with Putin to allow Ukraine's life-blood of grain, wheat, produce etc. to be released through the ports of Odessa to feed the starving African nations so dependent on it. And Turkey which (a) facilitated so much to NATO in the war against ISIIL/ISIS/Daesh terrorism and which has absorbed the mass of refugees from Syria and northern Iraq. Yes, it has problems with what it perceives to be internal 'terrorism' and security but so too, in the early 1970's did Britain imprison without trial at Long Kesh or 'H' Blocks many, may hundreds of Irish republicans whose opinions were distasteful to various Prime Ministers. Kettle, pot, black? Would you have described Harold Wilson, Ted Heath, Thatcher, etc. 'dictators'? Nah.
