Llandaff Cathedral steps

                                                       Llandaff Cathedral steps

Spotted on Twitter: "Did not expect to see this from @LlandaffCath but HOW UTTERLY BRILLIANT. A bold and welcoming move.

Brilliant? Bold indeed but how was a faculty obtained?

As for welcoming, the rainbow colours are on the risers so unlikely to be seen until leaving.

All is now clear.

A second picture shows a tape hazzard for someone to trip over. Perhaps the second best person to be a bishop in the Church in Wales!

  1. Just another reason never to return to that den of iniquity.

  2. Those rainbow tapes are a stumbling block, and you know what happens to anyone who creates a stumbling block.

  3. Is 'antichrist' too severe? I don't think so.

    Defilement of supposedly Holy ground.

  5. Apparently they were placed there without permission, were removed after becoming a trip hazard and then put back there again!

  6. It was lovely to worship at the Cathedral on Sunday and descend the PRIDE steps. It was made clear to us that the Cathedral were not responsible for the PRIDE steps but they certainly endorsed what the gesture represents. About time too.

'Defilement', 'den of iniquity', 'the antichrist' - what kind of god do you lot worship. Not the one revealed by Christ for sure. The truth is many of you have given up worship because things didn't go your way. It shows.

Giving up on Llandaff Cathedral, the dud in the Deanery and Caiaphas is not the same thing as giving up on worship.
"Where two or more are gathered together..."
You demonstrate admirably your failure to grasp the difference.
      Bravo.

    2. That's great to hear that you are still meeting with two or three others for worship and prayer; makes all the difference.

Worship turns us inside out towards God and our neighbour. When people are simple turned in upon themselves and their very narrow concerns, they tend to eschew worship and that's when beliefs can calcify into a form of embittered dogmatism. Keep worshipping 'Pride goes before a fall', it will do you the world of good.

I made no reference to any prayer or worship of mine but options open to all and sundry.
You demonstrate admirably your failure to grasp the difference.
      Bravo encore.

    4. That's excellent, "Pride goes before a fall" - good to know that you are worshipping in one form or another and are supportive to all and sundry doing the same.

As I say, the result of worship is to turn us inside-out-and-towards-God-and-neighbour. Alarms bells ring for me if people become insular in their beliefs and practices as this is usually (though not always) an indicator of havening given up on worship. Glad to know that this is not so with you.

Hope you have been to see the PRIDE stairs - a rather glorious image I must say, especially when you leave the cathedral and ascend up them. Made my Sunday. Happy pride month.

      Calcified embittered dogmatism?
Sounds to me like a gay "pride" community still busy pushing their agenda down the throats of the silent majority who couldn't give a gnat's chuff about "pride" month.
And my various gay friends wouldn't be seen dead anywhere near a "gay pride" event as they consider it them to be nothing more than crass and vulgar exhibitionism.
      A "glorious image"?
      Tired, tacky and tawdry.

    6. Just remember "Pride", you can't teach stupid.
It is also obvious to me that "Ruby" is a bloke.
      Gerwhine?
      Mr Toad?
Who cares, but obviously one of the gay cabal currently infesting Llandaff Cathedral and its environs.

    8. Given the quality of the bull produced thus far, one might be forgiven for thinking that "Ruby" works for the BBC.

  7. PP. But we're is the card carrying LGBT Dean or his entourage? Surely this leave of absence has gone on to long. Mind you has anyone missed them, the Cathedral team are doing well without him, are they not?

    1. The dud in the Llandaff Deanery has been AWOL for a solid 15 months now, but has it made any difference?
Are the Cathedral and Parish still expected to stump up the full Parish share to cover the cost of his salary etc.?
