Attitude! - The decline of the Church in Wales

Transgender award recipient, Rev Sarah Jones    Source:Twitter

Tweets from the first woman bishop in the Church in Wales have become notorious, causing the Archbishop of Canterbury to be ‘deeply embarrassed’.

The first transgender priest in the Church in Wales has also been tweeting, puffed up with pride after receiving an award from Attitude magazine.

The Rev Sarah Jones was 'ecstatic'. She said, "I'm honoured to be in such company. The LGBTQIA+ community are wonderful and glorious. You add immeasurably to the beauty of this world."

Sarah Jones speaks about the award here, proclaiming the message "God loves me".

And me. And me. And me.... The assertion is constant in endless self promoting tweets.

Do as you please because God loves you for being who you are.

No more struggles with temptation as Christ was tempted in the wilderness. How wonderful!

Christ came into the world to save sinners but He is not needed in the Church in Wales because sin has been banished. There are no sinners, just loved ones.

There is a certain irony in this. There has been much criticism of the bishop of Monmouth for living in a lesbian relationship but spiritually, for me, she is head and shoulders above most of her fellow bench sitters, not that it justifies her ordination!

Then there is the bishop of Bangor who, again, for me, has an evangelical zeal superior to others on the bench but is the husband of a second wife following divorce.

Church in Wales bishops have become adept at interpreting the Bible to suit their cause.

The consequence is that the Church in Wales is regarded as a joke in the Anglican world, providing sinecures for 'bishops' who spend disproportionate amounts of time promoting political and LGBTQA+ causes rather than the need for repentance.

Decline is inevitable.

Postscript

June Osborne @BishopJuno has tweeted:
"Such a well deserved award. So proud to have Sarah as a colleague and grateful for the inspiration she brings to Llandaff."

Another Church in Wales 'bishop' shows where her priorities lie.

  1. Surely you mean further decline AB?

Although I grant you, it is all but impossible to see how any further decline is possible within the stinking swamp of the Church in Wales.

  2. "God is beautifully non-binary."

A sermon in St. John's on Trinity Sunday must be present quite the challenge.

    1. Perhaps 'trinary' is somehow acceptable in a way that 'binary' is not?!

    2. Extremely doubtful John as it now seems there are over 150 different genders.

    3. How complicated some things seem to have become in recent years!

And yet it's only in certain very limited arenas - parts of the Anglican communion being an instance - where you get folk agonizing so endlessly on these matters. They don't seem to touch the wider world - where the church's mission presumably chiefly lies - very much at all.

I can see a need for the church to minister sensitively to people who may for a whole raft of reasons be unhappy in their own skin and who desire such ministrations.

But in the nature of things such folk are only ever going to be a small minority in the 'maes cenhadol'. It looks as if the current agonizing over this particular issue is leaving little space for anything else.

  3. In the crazy world of wokeist transgenderism, the only person whose chosen pronouns are not respected is God.

    1. You are correct.....did you see that films for children of any age (U) are to be allowed 4 swear words........ including God and Jesus Christ..... isn't that shocking? Yet no major denomination has commented...too busy imitating the world than being the salt and light we are called to be.

    2. One wonders if it is only Christians and their faith that the British Board of film Classification will permit to be offended?
Or will their list of permissable swear words also include Yahweh, Isaiah, Allah, Mohammed, Ganesh, Buddha, Wakantanka and so on?

  4. Who or what is Sarah Jones? LGBTQIA? am I looking at the Quran Scrools? I look at Levictacus, a man should not lay with a man as a woman. To me that is God's Word to say a male human should not connect with another male human, similarly a female human should not connect with another female human. These are God's Words, are those seeking Ordination, or those already "Ordained" saying God is Wrong.

What the Bishopette refers to as "inspiration" is more accurately described as derision.
Pitiful wokery and sucking up to the LGBTQIA+ cabal.
    Llandaff is a laughing stock.

I wonder if the Holy Ghost is thinking of giving Shirley's old job to Jeffrey John this time?
      Now that would be funny.

  10. I have been a Member of the Church in Wales for nearly 60 years and in such timde have witnessed the Ordination of many Clerics and also the Consecration of many Bishops. During both Ordination, and, Consecration, the Candidate takes The BIBLE in their hands and PROMISES to uphold it's TEACHING. I would remind all Clerics and Bishops of the Book of Levicticus, "A Man should not lay with another man as a Woman" There are other similar such Passages. My point is, if we have Priests be they Male or Female who are "laying" in such a Manner. Or a "Bishop" certainly we have in South East Wales, they should Renounce their Orders as they don't believe in the Promises they took at either Ordination or Consecration. To remain in post is a Mockery of the Faith of the Church in Wales
