Now hear this

Why the simultaneous rise of homosexuality and Islam?
An interview with Peter Kreeft. (HT Anglican Mainstream)

Speaking about the simultaneous rise of homosexuality and Islam the Philosopher Peter Kreeft says “They’re the only two movements in Western civilization that will fight and die for their beliefs.”

Politicians, church leaders and other misguided liberals including Channel 4: hear, mark, learn and inwardly digest.

  1. This post really saddened me. Exchange "homosexual lobby" for "movement for racial equality" and it would make the same point. Homophobic and Islamophobic in one posting. Congratulations, you must be so proud of yourself

    1. Au contraire littlequeeroldme. Not proud but saddened.

You do your community a disservice. What you describe as homophobic is a rational objection to the false notion of 'equal' marriage. Even in your own camp you represent a tiny minority. According to a COMRES poll, homosexuals make up just 1.5% of the UK’s population while just half of them consider it important to extend marriage to same-sex couples and only 27% say they would marry their partner if they could. It is not homophobic to support the legal definition of marriage which is the voluntary union for life of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others or to challenge those who suggest that it is.

Similarly, the charge of Islamophobia is constantly used to suppress any questioning of the threat of militant Islam. Since 9/11 there have been 21,171 Islamic terrorist attacks and rising, one of the more recent the beheading of a monk in Syria. There are many more examples here

  2. I don't have a "community" I just happen to be me - one of 1.5% of humankind who are gay (it might be a little more than 1.5% but not going to argue the toss with you over that one - 0.5%, 0.1% it is irrelevant). Of course, we are such a tiny number that our rights to equal treatment under the law can be trampled on and disregarded by bitter individualsd like you. What on earth is your problem with people who are gay? You do heterosexuals a huge disservice with your inablity to treat gay people with justice and equity. Shame on you.

    1. I stand corrected. Replace "your community" with "the gay community".
My 'problem' as you see it littlequeeroldme is not with people who are gay but with people in general, straight and gay, who claim that it is unjust and lacking in equity not to accept that marriage can be redefined with all that it entails. But we have been here before so I must just beg to differ -
